Why move to Wickford?
Wickford is a small town with a tight-knit community, situated close to the beautiful Essex countryside and not far from the east coast. Families are particularly attracted, as property is much more reasonably priced when compared to Billericay or Chelmsford.
Boasting plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, such as the 50-acre Wick Country Park, Wickford offers a good choice of things to do and see. With the capital being so close, a trip to the city opens up a whole host of interesting attractions to visit.
The main high street has seen much improvement over the past few years as part of its £125m ‘Master Plan’ scheme. Upgrades to infrastructure and many more new homes have contributed to the towns popularity and encouraged more residents into the area.
The High Street was also targeted, and its upgraded shopping facilities offer much more choice to residents.
Wickford has a swimming pool, library, open-air market and a community centre all within the vicinity of the town centre. With a good assortment of local shops and numerous good schools, Wickford may be a small town in comparison to others in Essex, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in location, community spirit and local investment.
Things to do in Wickford

For the little ones, Partyman World of Play is located in nearby Basildon. There is a football area, climbing frames and slides and it has the UK’s only indoor climbable volcano! With specially designed toddler areas for little guests who are under three years of age and a coffee shop selling a selection of light snacks, as well as much needed coffee, you could easily spend the day here. Perfect for all year entertainment.
