Schools & Education

Uckfield College is the main secondary school in the town. Following its most recent inspection, it was deemed as being “good” reports Ofsted.
Uckfield College is a community college teaching approximately 1,720 students, including 370 in the sixth form.
Post 16 students can opt to attend one of four further education colleges in East Sussex.
Plumpton is the closest 12 miles away. It offers courses in a variety of land-based and related subjects.
The college also provides some Foundation Degree and BSc courses. The college degree courses are provided in association with the Royal Agricultural University.
The three other colleges are Sussex Downs College (18 miles), Bexhill College (25 miles), and Sussex Coast College Hastings (30 miles).
Things to do in Uckfield

The High Weald Landscape Trail, Wealdway, 1066 Country Walk, Saxon Shore Way, Vanguard Way, and the Sussex Border Path. The total length of footpaths is 1281 miles.
Bluebell Railway consists of 11 miles of heritage railway line. Much of it lies within West Sussex, except for Sheffield Park which is in East Sussex.
A very popular attraction, it has an impressive fleet of over 30 steam locomotives, the 2nd largest collection in the UK after the National Railway Museum, all run by volunteers.
