Among the many state secondaries, there are two “outstanding” comprehensive schools; Bennett Memorial Diocesan School and St Gregory’s Catholic School (both co-ed, ages 11 to 18).
The town is home to three highly regarded grammar schools as well. The Skinners School (ages 11 to 18) and Tunbridge Wells Girls Grammar (ages 11 to 18), both rated “outstanding”. The third is Tunbridge Wells Grammar for Boys (boys, ages 11 to 18, with girls in the sixth form) which is judged to be “good”.
Although Tunbridge Wells does not have a university of its own, the Salomons Campus of Canterbury Christ Church University is located just outside the town (near Southborough) and provides postgraduate programmes.
