This little market town is in a handy location geographically, plus it boasts a lot of very beautiful landscape to boot.

In recent years the town has made a name for itself locally as a culinary mecca. The pretty Georgian high street is lined with some fab eateries to suit all tastes. One of the focal points in Stone is the Crown Hotel. An old coaching inn, it still retains many of its original features as well as providing good value for money food.

Stalls of all types sell their products featuring the best of local food and crafts. The small-town feel, combined with good travel links ensures that Stone is a popular location with visitors and its 16,500 residents.
