A relatively large town, Stevenage sits in the county of Hertfordshire. It is located to the east of junctions 7 and 8 of the A1(M), between the Garden Cities of Letchworth and Welwyn. With capital city of London only around 30 miles away it is a fantastic hub for commuters.
Stevenage occupies a unique place in British social history as the first of the post-war New Towns to be built in 1946 when the population rocketed from roughly 7,000 to around 80,000.

Historical Knebworth House and Park sit on Stevenage’s doorstep. The country house that has been the residence for the Lytton family since 1490. The theatrical Victorian Tudor Revival facade encloses a much older house, built from red brick and dating back to the 16th century.

Stevenage Property
Whilst Stevenage has very favourable travel connections and sits close to the city and other larger towns, its property prices are not as high as you would expect. The average cost for a home here is £320,838 which is noticeably cheaper than many of its neighbours such as Hitchin and Knebworth.
