Things to Do in Medway
Being spread over a large area means that Medway has a wide variety of leisure attractions and receives hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.
A visit to rural parts such as Capstone Farm Country Park, one of Medway’s finest green spaces, is a wonderful opportunity for walking, running, cycling and more. Covering 114 hectares of former farmland on the North Downs it boasts a variety of habitats including ancient woodlands, old orchards, a freshwater lake, meadows, and hedgerows.
There is also no shortage of maritime and military heritage and history in Medway. Highlights include Upnor Castle and Fort Amherst, Britain’s largest Napoleonic Fortress.
The River Medway is lined with boat clubs, marinas, cafes, and restaurants. Wonderful places to walk and eat in beautiful surroundings any time of the year.
