    Why Move to Great Yarmouth?

The Norfolk town of Great Yarmouth (known locally as just Yarmouth) is an ancient market town. It lies on the coast at the mouth of the River Yare, 20 miles from Norwich, 10 miles from Lowestoft and 15 from Beccles.

Being Norfolk’s premier beach resort, the town is bursting with things to do and see.
Miles of sandy beaches have enticed people to holiday here for many years. But it is also a wonderful place to put down permanent roots. The bustling town centre, busy in the summer months, offers a great variety of both well-known retailers and plenty of smaller independent shops.

To cater for holidaymakers, Yarmouth is packed with great restaurants many specialising in locally caught seafood dishes.

Plus, Yarmouth boasts the largest ancient marketplace in the UK. Covering an area of 5400 metres, and although not documented officially, it is thought to have existed prior to the granting of the King John Charter in 1208.

The area in general has expanded hugely over the years and it continues to do.
Proposals are underway for a £100m regeneration program to further strengthen the town centre’s appeal which in turn will assist in attracting new businesses, create jobs and boost its economy.

The town is a forward thinking one with regard to energy too. As the world focusses on renewable energy, Yarmouth is doing its bit too. The Scroby Sands offshore wind farm has attributed to making the town a greener place and has enhanced Great Yarmouth’s growing economy.

If it is a well-priced home in a safe neighbourhood located close to the ocean with the added benefit of good employment prospects, then Great Yarmouth could be just what you are looking for.

    Great Yarmouth Schools & Education

Currently there are no Ofsted “outstanding” primaries in the town, however there are a number of “good” rated ones which include: St Nicholas Priory C of E and St Nicholas Priory CofE VA Primary School.

Yarmouth offers plenty of fun things to do with your leisure time and as befits a town by the seaside many activities and attractions are centred around the beach or water based.

Much emphasis is focussed on the town’s location to the sea; however, it is also sometimes referred to as a gateway to the Norfolk Broads, a network of navigable rivers and lakes. Boating holidays and day trips are great fun and a must for all ages. There are plenty of companies who hire narrow boats and it does not have to be expensive.

Yarmouth has history in its maritime industry a huge herring fishing port at one time which is celebrated in one of its many fine museums, like The Nelson Museum and The Time and Tide Museum.

The Pleasure Beach Gardens offer various amusement arcades, funfair rides and crazy golf, as well as Sara’s Tearooms serving food and drink throughout the day.
