Schools & Education

The town’s main college, Frome Community College, provides education between ages 13 and 18. Students’ studies at the College lead up to GCSE, GNVQ, AS-Level, and A-Level qualifications. Adult learning courses are also offered on-site.

Things to do in Frome
We all look forward to doing something relaxing in our downtime. Frome is home to many hidden gems for those who love the outdoors. Local parks and green spaces are perfect for walking, playing, relaxing, spotting the wildlife, and anything else you may want to do on a nice day outdoors.
Catherine Hill is situated in central Frome, one of the town’s many beautiful landmarks.
An attractive and steep cobbled street the hill is lined with interesting shops, including many antique shops. Frome’s Catherine Hill is also one of the town’s many landmarks.
The Frome Independent is an outdoor, monthly street market. The event spans the whole of Frome town centre and attracts a footfall of around 80,000 per year. Host to over 200 traders each month across 6 sections; designer-maker; flea market; homes and gardens; street food; food producer and suitcase traders. It is well worth spending some time wandering and experiencing some of the great street food on offer.
Frome Heritage Museum has over 21,000 objects covering the history of Frome and its neighbourhood. Located in the centre of the town in a historic building, it was built for the Frome Literary and Scientific Institution and also features local and industrial history collections.
Nunney Castle is an interesting site to visit. Situated in the lovely village of Nunney, there is not a lot to see given it is a ruin, but it is free to explore, and it is set in a pretty area.
