Things to do in Formby
If you enjoy spending time outside, then Formby has much to offer in this regard. A coastline that is absolutely beautiful as well as historic and even includes prehistoric footprints, ideal for long leisurely walks.
Red squirrels are native to the area and are regularly spotted visiting green spaces and local gardens right across the area.
The pine woods at Victoria Road have been set up as a National Trust reserve for the red squirrel which is listed on the endangered species list.
If you enjoy golf, this stretch of coast is famous for links golf courses such as Southport & Ainsdale, Hillside, West Lancashire, Hesketh, and Royal Birkdale.
Formby Hall lies in secluded woodland adjoining Formby Golf Club. A Grade II listed building dating back to 1523. There are several off-road and on-road cycle routes in the area, and most are easily doable for a range of ages.
You can head out on two wheels and explore the pinewoods along the coast, or for the fitter among us, you can try the longer routes to Southport or Liverpool.
Farmer Ted’s Adventure Farm is one for little children. The farm has plenty of little critters and an outdoor play area, a maze, and lots of other kiddie-friendly activities.
