Fleetwood is a beautiful, Victorian seaside resort in the county of Lancashire. On one side Fleetwood offers stunning award-winning beaches pristine and on the other, unforgettable landscapes in the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The town is located at the northwest corner of the Fylde and has a population of around 26,000. Historically the town was built around the fishing and railway industries.
Fleetwood has undergone much regeneration in recent years. Improvements to buildings, upgrading facilities, and encouraging business in the town have transformed Fleetwood into a desirable location. The recently renovated seafront area has views across to Morecambe Bay where the low tide reveals a truly vast expanse of sand. Being located on a peninsula the best and fastest route to the town is via the main A585. Plus, there is a good public transport system available complemented by a unique tramway network.
North Railway Station provides access to other larger towns in the region such as Blackpool 43 minutes, Preston 56 minutes, and Lancaster 1 hour 20 minutes.

Fleetwood Schools & Education
The town is home to several public sector primary schools.
St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Fleetwood, and Fleetwood Flakefleet Primary achieved a “good” report from Ofsted, with the sought-after Shakespeare Primary School achieving an “outstanding” rating.
Unfortunately, the closest secondary Fleetwood High, is currently “requiring Improvement” says Ofsted. The latest Inspection Report does state, however, that “New leaders are giving the school a clear view of how successful it could and should be. This is giving the school a solid foundation to make further improvements”.
Private education is provided by Rossall School. A co-educational, independent, day and boarding school for ages 5 to 18.
Further education within the town can be found at the B&FC, Blackpool and Fylde College.
The college provides local students with several academic and vocational courses.
Additionally, it is one of the UK’s top nautical establishments with links to major shipping companies and attracting students from around the world.
