Things to do in Epsom
If you enjoy the great outdoors, known for its beautiful parks (Epsom has five) and of course its proximity to the Surrey Hills (AONB – Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) The AONB was designated in 1958 and stretches across a quarter of the county of Surrey, you will find plenty of things to do outdoors.
Horton Country Park has been treasured by locals since medieval times, and today offers 400 acres of park and nature reserve enjoyed by cyclists, walkers, kite flyers, fruit pickers and nature lovers the county over.
Epsom Downs is another fabulous open space, with unspoilt heath and woodlands and panoramic views across the whole of London.
As the home of the world-renowned Epsom Derby, the town is steeped in horse racing history. Epsom Downs Racecourse, with its iconic grandstand overlooking the track, has been the venue for the famous flat race since it was first started in 1780. A great day out.
The compact town centre is a great place to shop followed by lunch at one of the many al fresco restaurants. Or shopping for that special gift.
Take a leisurely stroll along the path of the Hogsmill River from Bourne Hall to Ewell Court House. Great for all the family all year round.
