The county of Cheshire sits in the north west of the UK on the border with Wales. The county is conveniently located to key travel routes offering outstanding connectivity by road and by rail.

Cheshire’s county town is the historical City of Chester however, several other major towns are incorporated in the region such as Warrington, Crewe, Macclesfield, Wilmslow and Nantwich.
Although predominantly rural, it is a county of varied landscapes from farmland and castles to cities and market towns. Cheshire boasts estuaries (the Dee and the Mersey), the extensive lowlands of the Cheshire Plains, open farmland with hedgerow borders, and it is part of the Peak District National Park.
Being so rural provides a wealth of outdoor entertainment options for residents. Much of the county is horse country, and country walks, cycling, and jogging opportunities are abundant.

Things to do in Cheshire
No matter where in the county you live, there is always something interesting to visit, see or do.
The waterways of Manchester Ship Canal and Shropshire Union Canal provide all sorts of water-based leisure activities. Hiring a narrow boat for a day or longer is a great way to explore the region as they flow through some major towns along the way.
