Things to do in Bognor Regis
The area offers a fantastic variety of amenities, walks and places of interest that appeal to both young and old. Today Bognor Regis is perhaps best known for hosting the annual Birdman Event, where daredevils leap off the pier in home-made flying machines.
Enjoying a close community feel, the town holds many events throughout the year. The nearby Goodwood Estate hosts the world-famous Glorious Goodwood Week and Festival of Speed every year, drawing large crowds and providing a marvellous atmosphere to the area.
Hotham Park is a beautiful park which is home to a cafe, children’s play area and a mini-golf course. The park was home to Sir Richard Hotham, the 18th century founder of Bognor Regis, and his house is still within the park grounds today. It is a fantastic area for the kids steeped in fascinating history.
On Bognor’s doorstep are the likes of historical Chichester and Arundel. The latter is home to Arundel Castle which is a fantastic example of a restored medieval castle and stately home.
Bognor Regis East Beach proudly holds the Seaside Award for 2019. The beach and promenade are located close to the main shopping centre, with a free Kid Care armband scheme, easy transport from Foreshore Station and RNLI Lifeguards the beach is a fantastic attraction.

Bognor Regis Schools & Education
Bognor Regis and nearby Felpham is home to around 12 primary schools which operate to high standards. The majority of these having received a “good” grading from Ofsted. St Philip Howard Catholic School was one of the few to be awarded an “outstanding” rating.
There are two secondary schools, The Regis School and Felpham Community College, both of which have around 1400 pupils and both received a rating of “good” following their last Ofsted inspections.
Bognor Regis also hosts a university campus for Chichester University. The university has 14 departments, with specialisms including Humanities, Sport, Musical Theatre and Education.
In 2019, the University was ranked as the 4th for courses and lecturers in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019. They have also been voted one of the best universities of the year, coming 14th out of 131 institutions, above both Oxford and Cambridge.

Once seen as a mecca for retirees and home to a huge range of bungalows and older dwellings built during the 20s/30s, Bognor is now emerging as an up and coming modern town, attracting a younger generation of residents.
